Abstract

This study examines the representation of moral values in the film Budi Pekerti by Wregas Bhanuteja, emphasizing its potential contribution to moral education for adolescents. The analysis focuses on five key values: honesty, hard work, creativity, critical thinking, and environmental awareness, which are essential for character development and social responsibility. Using a qualitative approach and discourse analysis, this study explores narrative structures, character interactions, and visual elements to identify how moral messages are constructed and conveyed. The findings reveal that the film effectively embeds educational values through relatable characters and realistic social contexts, allowing learners to reflect on ethical behavior in everyday life. Honesty and hard work are portrayed as foundations for personal growth, while creativity and critical thinking are presented as skills necessary for problem-solving and decision-making. Furthermore, environmental awareness is highlighted to promote responsible citizenship. The study concludes that Budi Pekerti can function as a meaningful educational medium that supports moral and character education. The findings suggest that film-based learning can be integrated into educational settings to strengthen students’ moral awareness and reinforce culturally grounded values.
